Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood took oath as Punjab Governor on Tuesday. Chief Justice of Lahore Higher Court Umar Ata Bandial administered oath. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Iqbal, PPP leader Manzoor Wattoo and senior officials were present in the oath taking ceremony. Punjab Governor talking to journalists, on the occasion, said that his first priority was to work for the prosperity of people.

He said that he would be working for the cause of democracy. Referring to Punjab Government he said that it should focus on his recommendations and work for the formation of interim government. Newly appointed Punjab Governor also visited mausoleum of Hazrat Data Gang Baksh (RA)) and Allama Iqbal (RA) during the day.
